Nessacus Edline Log In Page
Welcome to the NRMS Edline Information & Log
In Page.
Thanks to a donation from our PTO, Edline is being implemented by Nessacus
as a new method of communication with parents and the community. This
program will allow the school to save time and money on items such as postage
and thus improve the quality of education provided to our students. Edline
is
a web
portal that provides an easy way for you to keep up to date on class
news, your child's latest grades, class information, school events
calendar and more!
It will take a while for all teachers/classes to have Edline
fully integrated. In the meantime, this is the process for obtaining
access to Edline:
- Obtain a parent/gaurdian and seperate student account activation code.
(It
was mailed prior to the Tuesday, Sept. 19th. Open House.) If you
have lost your activation code or are a non-custodial parent who
wishes to get a code, you will need to, for security reasons, show
a valid id in order
to pick up your activation code.
Please remember to not share your access with anyone.
- Watch the Account Setup Flash movie or read the Account Setup Guide provided
by Edline, and follow the instructions for setting up your Edline account.
- Read the Parent/Student Quick-Start Guide. It will teach you the basics
of using Edline, and how to find and view information about your student(s).
- Use the "Help" link you will find on every Edline page to get
help in using that page, or to access the help system index and printable
help guides. Other helpful information is available on this page.
- If you still have difficulty, stop by the computer lab during the Open House for assistance.

Tips:
- Edline uses the same security measures and encryption as fincial institutions.
However, none of this is effective if you give your personal security
(passwords, PIN numbers)
away. Always keep your Edline account login information secure. Do not
share this with anyone, even your child. Each student has his/her own
individual
login.
- Be sure to include a valid email address when activating your account. This is required
for assistance with passwords and needed if you would like to be contacted in regards to grade
reports for your child.
- Remember that grade reports viewed on Edline do not reflect a "real-time"
view of the teacher's gradebook. As such, reports should be considered
merely a starting point for teacher-parent-student communication concerning
grades.
- Remember:
- Reports include only assignments that have been graded, not necessarily all
assignments or work that has been turned in.
- Scores that are entered into a grade book may be weighted by categories,
therefore a 20 point homework assignment may count
less in the overall grade than a 20
point quiz will.
- Even when scores are not weighted, they are not necessarily equal in value.
For example, an assignment worth 50 points will affect a student's grade more
than an assignment worth 20 points.
- Parents should discuss the reports with the student first if they have
a question about an assignment. If they still need
clarification, then an email or phone call to a teacher
is the next step.
- Teachers will be sending reports on a bi-weekly basis as much as possible.
Exceptions may occur if:
- No assignments are collected and graded that week, resulting in no
change in the current marking period grade.
- It was a short school week due to in-service days, vacation days, snow days,
etc.
- The teacher was not in school during a portion of the week due to attendance
at a conference, an illness, etc.
- Computer/network difficulties.
Edline and NRMS strive to create a safe, secure online environment for
parents, students, and educators. Privacy and security are our highest priority.
Edline
uses advanced SSL encryption technology to ensure the secure transmission
of all sensitive data. User information is never sold or shared with people
or organizations outside of Edline.
