ProxCards for Building Access

The district IT department maintains records for and issues ProxCards for all staff.  These cards allow access to certain exterior doors at each building and also work for the time and attendance system. ProxCards are programmed for the building(s) that you work in.  Staff who do not have alarm codes will be issued cards that open doors during hours that a custodian is present in the building.  Staff who have alarm codes will be issued cards that open doors 24/7/365.
  • If your card is lost:  Please let the IT department know immediately.  To maintain security, we can deactivate the card so that it will no longer open doors at district buildings.  A new card will be printed for you.
  • Avoid bending, cutting, or punching holes in your card.  The cards contain a coiled antenna wire that runs around the outside of the card.  If this is bent or broken, the card will no longer function.
  • A card will be replaced if it is lost, is no longer read by the Prox Readers, or if an error was made when printing it.  Due to the cost of cards and ink, we will not replace cards due to a preference for a different photo.
  • If you have issues with a card that scans properly, but does not grant access to a building or the time/attendance system:  Please provide the 5-digit number on the back of the card to the IT department when reporting the issue.  While we maintain these records, typographical errors are always possible so this allows us to make sure the number in the system matches the card number.
