Wellness at Work

Happy New Year everyone! If you want to make some healthy resolutions for the year ahead, here are a few tips:

  • Keep your goals simple and attainable
  • Make sure they are specific
  • Have a few milestones set along the way and reward yourself when you reach them
  • Partner up with someone and hold each other accountable

We had over 40 participants in our Maintain Don’t Gain Challenge that ran from Late November thru January 3. Many were successful and will be receiving a $25 gift certificate from Berkshire Health Group.

Our next wellness challenge will be the “No Diet, Diet” and will begin February 5th.  A brief description follows below. I will take sign ups later in the month.

The “ No Diet” Diet Challenge
February 5th - March 12th
Tired of being told what to eat, but still want to lose weight or achieve health goals? You can! By being a bit more mindful about your eating environment and employing tips and tricks to help you feel more satisfied with less food. Do your best to earn points for as many of the 5 ‘No Diet’ tips and track your exercise minutes for 6 weeks. Each habit is worth 1 point.


The Berkshire Eagle and Berkshire Health Systems are hosting a Body, Mind, and Soul Health Expo at the Crowne Plaza on January 20 from 2-5pm.  The free event will feature information and demonstrations to improve your health and wellbeing. There will be food and drink samples, professional fitness trainers, blood pressure testing, various workshops and much more.
