Dear Central Berkshire Families,

Time is flying and there are some important upcoming dates that I wanted to remind everyone of. As a reminder, if you travel, there are state guidelines that impact a return to school. We ask that you notify your student’s school so that they are aware and can guide you through the protocol.

We are aware that hybrid learning presents challenges, in particular on asynchronous days. If you are finding that these challenges include work completion, and/or learning new skills and concepts, please contact your student’s teacher and/or Principal for additional guidance and support. We are continuing to monitor local COVID-19 health metrics in collaboration with the Health and Wellness School Committee Subcommittee to try and improve our learning model(s). Additionally, there are ongoing discussions at our monthly School Committee meetings and audience members can attend via zoom. This information is located on our website calendar.

Our Parent Advisory will be meeting again on Nov. 4 at 6:30PM. At this time, we will discuss both remote and hybrid learning with opportunities for input around how we can improve these models and potential opportunities for what future learning might look like throughout this school year.

Recently, the MA Commissioner endorsed replacing snow days with remote learning days for this year only.  This has been adopted by multiple districts throughout county and state and will be a topic of discussion at an upcoming SC meeting. The exception would be in the event of a loss of power.
