What is a feasibility study and what does it cost?
  • A feasibility study will carefully examine potential solutions to the issues identified at Wahconah
  • The study will assess current building and develop plans to renovate or replace Wahconah
  • The study will include proposals from 2-4 architects, engineers, and a project manager
  • Proposals will take into account site preparation/demolition, environmental mitigation measures, utilities cut-in, and collaboration with building committee to establish design/layout of the building and property
  • The study will be conducted over course of 12-18 months
  • The feasibility study is estimated to cost $850,000
  • The MSBA will reimburse approximately 50% of the cost of the feasibility study
  • Payment for the study will be spread out over 5 years

What if I vote YES?
  • CBRSD’s enrollment in the MSBA program would continue into the “Feasibility Phase”
  • A feasibility study will be conducted with support from MSBA
  • A second vote, at the conclusion of the feasibility study, will be held to determine whether to move forward with a renovation or replacement of Wahconah

What if I vote NO?

  • CBRSD’s enrollment in the MSBA program will end
  • A feasibility study will not be conducted
  • CBRSD moves to the “back of the line” with the MSBA; a future building project could be delayed by 10-20 years
  • CBRSD will face ongoing needs at Wahconah at full cost to taxpayers
